Recently I get a lot of people saying that Al!ve hacked. They base their opinion on one single entry posted by jamz which i will quote here:

Note.
On 24th September I was in a game and .Alive''~s|D: joined. We had this conversation:
jamz: lol Alive
.Alive''~s|D: what
jamz: I have a demo of you playing with a cheat client Very Happy
I left the game, but he followed me and it continued:
.Alive''~s|D: amz?
.Alive''~s|D: jamz go loki 8040
.Alive''~s|D: Razz
jamz: yeah, ok
.Alive''~s|D: /connect loki.woop.us 8040
.Alive''~s|D: you coming?
jamz: what do you think?
.Alive''~s|D: idk XD
.Alive''~s|D: come? Razz
jamz: or not
.Alive''~s|D: for lets say 2 min XD
.Alive''~s|D: or go irc or sth else :DDD
jamz: bite me cheater boy
.Alive''~s|D: never call me cheater in case of proovelessness ok?
jamz: I have the demo - and no-one else would care

Once more, I left the game, and didn't see him again, until a week ago he joined a game and I left immediately
Today, 13 Oct, I did the same thing when he joined. He quit, so I rejoined; so did he. Then we did it again. Then again. He's obviously being a bit funny about being accused of cheating, so here's the proof (although it turns out I lied about the demo):

I have no idea how well-known this is, but Al!ve used to play as mezzo, or MeZzO, or Mezzo'', or variations.
He was in (lolclan) r|D and cS for a while and had the .LhC' tag for a long time before that, but if it was a clan, he was the only member. When he joined P@ndel in starting up s|D, it was as Al!ve, a nick he'd been using since 3rd August.

P@ndel asked me to give him some evidence about a player they were thinking of recruiting. I did, but, being suspicious, I looked into Al!ve too. I discovered that when he'd been playing as .cS"|*MeZzO'', he'd had a slight lapse in honesty, and decided to play with a well-known cheat client - DXT under version 1.0; not for long, but he did it, and in a public server. Twice.

Here's a log of that incident (1 and 2 are well-known Hi-Skill servers, Eurozone and The Hub):
Jul 09 15:28:03 [1]: [88.77.226.196] client connected
Jul 09 15:28:03 [1]: [88.77.226.196] .cS"|*MeZzO'' logged in (default)
Jul 09 15:28:03 [1]: [88.77.226.196] runs AC 1001 (defs: 40)
Jul 09 15:28:09 [1]: [88.77.226.196] disconnected client .cS"|*MeZzO'' cn 3, 6 seconds played, score saved
Jul 09 15:28:13 [2]: [88.77.226.196] client connected
Jul 09 15:28:14 [2]: [88.77.226.196] .cS"|*MeZzO'' logged in (default)
Jul 09 15:28:14 [2]: [88.77.226.196] runs AC 1001 (defs: 40)
Jul 09 15:28:21 [2]: [88.77.226.196] disconnected client .cS"|*MeZzO'' cn 5, 7 seconds played, score saved

There's no doubt it's really him. He's always played in 88.76.224.0/19, 88.77.224.0/19 or 88.78.0.0/20

For those of you who don't know, the 'AC 1001 (defs: 40)' is the tell-tale sign of the DXT client. DXT used an old, quickly superceded, Windows version of 1.0.1 for their cheat client and never updated it. We were spotting this from about October 2009. For a long time it was rare to see the client, but when you did, you knew it was a cheat. Especially when they swapped between version 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 or 1.0.4, the two more common Windows clients.
You can see, he was using 1.0.2 the day before, and just after that incident:
Jul 08 14:00:41 [1]: [88.77.227.69] .cS"|*MeZzO'' logged in (default)
Jul 08 14:00:41 [1]: [88.77.227.69] runs AC 1002 (defs: 42)
...
Jul 09 15:43:17 [1]: [88.77.226.196] .cS"|*MeZzO'' logged in (default)
Jul 09 15:43:17 [1]: [88.77.226.196] runs AC 1002 (defs: 42)

Anyway, this is here so that if Al!ve bothers me again, I can direct him to it. If you happen to spot it, and know Al!ve, please direct him this way, thanks Smile

Now, oh hi-skill I said that I was very disappointed by how Jamz handled the matter about this. So, he sent me the following PM:

"...i am very disappointed in the way jamz handled this matter..."

Boo hoo. I'll cry a little for your hurt feelings.
I want one thing from AC: to play unmolested by cheats. I pointed out to Al!ve that I knew he was a cheat and left the game. *He* was the one who came after me. *He* was the one who insisted on protesting his innocence and following me in servers. He brought this upon himself because he couldn't just accept the fact that he's a dirty cheat, and leave me alone.

"...a single entry from 2009..."

Wrong. It was from July 9th 2010.

The only person you should be disappointed with is the one who let you down by pretending to be an honest player of this game, whilst lying to you about his history and possible intentions. These are the scum that have no place in on-line gaming, and taking any other view gives them a reason to think they can get away with it. You *should* be denouncing Al!ve for the waste of space that he is, not having a go at the messenger. I honestly thought you cared more about getting rid of cheats than this.

"...feel good about yourselves..."

Wrong again. I feel sick to my stomach that I know so much about these people's activities. I feel sick that I'm usually the only one who has any idea who's who and who's cheated in the past, but is being defended by close friends and allowed to continue playing. I feel sick whenever I'm playing a fun game and one of these idiots joins, and *I* have to leave to try and keep things fun for everyone else.

I gave up blacklisting cheats some time ago, and at the same time I gave up complaining about them in public (something I *never* did without solid proof BTW). I will only reveal someone as a cheat when they claim not to be, or try to claim they are somehow more honest than other players. This is what Al!ve was doing, and I hate myself for doing what I did; but I hate people like him even more.

I will not be going into discussion about what really happened more than what I wrote to Jamz as a reply to his PM:

First, thank you for writing such a long message. It shows you care about what I said in my post on HS and that you don't really *boo hoo*.

Second, the only place where I said anything about you was what I said in the brackets, the rest was for others, but still it is nice to see that you have responded to those as well. And since you bothered to get registered on our forums to send me a message, I feel obligated to respond.

I want to repeat that I AM disappointed in the way you handled the matter. Al!ve, the guy you accuse of being a *dirty cheat*, told me long before that he had a cheat client. But he also said that back then he was given a link for the game (by some friends or forumers, I don't really remember) where he downloaded his first AC. Once he installed it he realized that the game was too easy (and he did play it only in single player) and therefore that something was not OK, he found the official site for the download, and installed the official non-cheat client.

I hope you will keep this part private in case you might want to publish this reply of mine somewhere, I have known this guy for a long time. I even got photos of him and his friends. This is a kind of guy that lives with school, friends, girl-friends, drinking etc. He never played any other online game in his life, not even mentioning other kinds of game. Therefore, i think you would understand that for a guy like this it is hard even to find the installation folder of the game, which he managed only after maybe half an hour me explaining him where to go, what to do etc. This is the reason you see him running a cheat client running along with the official version.

I don't know about you, but occasionally, and not that I like it, I have to baby sit our friends' kids so that the older generation can have a decent talk of daily matters in the living room without being disturbed by the annoying *I am bored*, *I want this*, *I want that*, *I want to sleep*, *I want to go home* stuff. And the easies thing for me to do is to sit them before the computer and let them play a game they will definitely want to continue playing even when their parents finally say *It is time to go home*. For me that is AC. Apparently, for Al!ve it is (or was) AC as well. A slight mistake, and the new generation found itself playing in an unreal world with a cheat client. A quick glance at the screen, and in only 13 seconds you see that little kid getting disconnected from the game by his older *bro*. That is the reason why this is the only log entry with a cheat client which lasted only 13 seconds. Therefore, when you told him that you have a demo in which you said Al!ve cheated, the guy genuinely did not know what he was accused of. That is the reason he followed you in the games, to have a word with you. In fact, I also tried to contact you, but for some reason you had your PM on AC forums disabled, I couldn't find you on any IRC channel, and nobody seemed to have your mail address, at least this is what they told me. So, he did not bring it on his own, but rather your own ignorance of the fact that a guy you accused of cheating was trying to contact you, forced you to release the logs without even discussing what had happen that there is only a single 13 second log entry, for which Al!ve is now banned on TyD servers. This is where i am disappointed with you, the way you handled the matter. If in this game for reasons like not thinking that a download link which is supposed to lead to a very fun free online FPS game may turn out to be a download link for a cheat client, and some not being so good with computers, people will be getting banned without even considering what really happened, I want to thank God that I can find the official site for the game and that I know how to use a PC, but I really want to stop playing this game.

I know that it will make zero difference for you, but I hope now you have a concrete idea about what had really happened. It does not really matter if you believe what I said or not, but from numerous matches we did with Al!ve and different clan players yesterday I can see that many people do understand what had really happened. I really hope that next time you start talking to people you accuse of cheating and who are known to the community (I am not talking about those noobs who after only 5 minute of game play realize how terribly they suck, and google for a cheat client right away), and not just publish logs for which that person might have a perfect explanation for. Otherwise, this hole thing isn't really any different that Brahma's way of burning innocent people.

I want to make a few additions for those who read this. It seems that many think that Mezzo changed his nick name to Al!ve because he cheated (*cheated*) and took another nick name for cover up. Now, those who know Mezzo, a.k.a Al!ve, also know that Al!ve told everyone that he changed his nick name the very first days he started using his new identity. So please stop taking this new alias thing far beyond than what it really is, a simple change of nick name, if not, I really have no idea what you are trying to accomplish by trying showing a fact know to every one as something that was recently disclosed.

Also, I frequently see some players who are amused to stick the *cheater* word every time they see me or Al!ve in public servers. To a greater extent this holds true for a particular member of MyS clan, which, as we can witness from a number of complaints in AC forums as well as some clan forums, has no respect to other clans what so ever. This is not the place nor time for discussing their deeds, however what they do is bringing harm to innocent people. I hope that MyS admin will start realizing what his members' deeds are really causing; however, for the time being, he prefers to close his eyes on anything his members do.

People ask me what I shall do about Al!ve. I always ask them back: "Why should I do anything about him?". If some of you really think that a single entry is a solid proof that he is a cheater, then so be it. But for for me, a guy who has a common sense and knows Al!ve well and long enough to trust him not only as some random AC player, but a real person, this is nothing more than a mistake that could have happened to anyone without knowing it. If you are not OK with that, then stay the hell away from us because we may hack you so hard, in and out, that you will have nightmares and wet your bed.

Also don't try to pick an argument because all your effort will be in vain. I and Al!ve are done talking to people. Why the hell will we talk to those who are 100% convinced by Jamz' log? This discussion about Al!ve and his *hacking* stops here, at least for us.
